Abstract

This study investigated the association between feeding types, body mass index (BMI), and esophageal cancer risk factors in Gezira State, Sudan. A cross-sectional analysis of 50 participants revealed a significant association between feeding type and BMI (p=0.003), with gastrostomy tube feeding linked to higher rates of underweight individuals. No significant association was found between meal frequency and BMI (p=0.099). These findings underscore the importance of considering feeding methods in nutritional assessments for esophageal cancer patients.
