Abstract
The PT JRBM-Gold Mining has ended operations and is currently in the post-mining revegetation stage according to the contract agreement with the government. The purpose of this study was to analyse the level of diversity of wild animals that thrive in and around PT JRBM-Gold Mining from the results of environmental monitoring during 2024. In collecting data, the surveyor covered five transects with a total distance of 2.5 km with an average of 0.5 km/transect. Each transect was observed twice in the morning and repeated in the afternoon by the surveyor assisted by PT JRBM employees. The fauna diversity was analysed by the Shannon-Wenner Species Diversity Index Analysis method (H’). Similarly, the value of the uniformity index or evenness of species was measured by the evenness index (E) or Shannon Equity Index formula. Results showed that the analysis of fauna species diversity in the PT JRBM-Gold Mining area location show a high Shannon diversity index (H’) value of 3.37 (H’>3) with significant similarities (E) in the abundance of fauna species distribution in this community of 0.825, which indicates evenly (E ≥ 0.75). This condition can be an indicator of the increasing success in the revegetation of the animal life habitat area that has successfully developed in the post-mining vegetation forest of PT JRBM-Gold Mining.
