Abstract
Electric vehicles (EVs) have revolutionized the automotive industry by offering an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional combustion engines, and their electrical systems are a pivotal aspect of this transformation. In electric vehicles (EVs), pre-charge resistors play a crucial role in safely managing the high inrush current when the battery system is initially connected to the high-voltage components, like the inverter. These resistors limit the initial current flow, preventing damage to components like contactors, fuses, and the battery itself due to the large surge of current that occurs when capacitors are charged.
