Abstract
Total Quality Management (TQM) is one of the globally popular and accepted philosophies to ensure the standardization and quality control and management in industries. TQM is also applicable in construction industry, but the implementation of TQM is less in construction industry as compared to that in other industry. For this review paper 20 published papers presented by distinguished scholars are taken in to consideration and attempt is made to understand and document the concept of TQM in construction industry with number of point of views. Theory of TQM, different concepts and steps related to TQM, problems related to implementation of TQM, different approaches to implement TQM, structures guiding implementation of TQM and also case studies considered by different authors concern with the construction industry is covered briefly to understand the overall concept.
