Abstract
Spontaneous infarction is an uncommon complication of breast fibroadenoma. Infarction of fibroadenoma can also be induced by trauma or following fine needle aspiration procedure. Spontaneous infarction occurs mostly during pregnancy or lactation, but it may not be associated with any risk factor. Ultrasound plays a major role in identifying such complications of fibroadenoma but core biopsy remains the golden standard investigation for final diagnosis.
